Although Delta-8 edibles offer a legal and yummy way for you to enjoy the buzz along with wellness benefits, are they a safe alternative?
The list of reasons to try Delta-8 grows bigger by the day, and the main one being why not? You can enjoy an all-natural, hemp-derived legal high that not only gives you that buzz, but can benefit your well-being too! Let’s talk about it, some people do want Delta-8 purely for the fact they get that euphoric head high, while others may enjoy Delta-8 because it helps with their anxiety. Here’s a short list of some of the effects you could experience when taking a Delta-8 edible:
What we can gather just from this list is that Delta-8 could be very impactful when it comes to dealing with mental health, especially anxiety and stress disorders. The reasoning for this is that many studies have concluded that Delta-8 is commonly known for its “relaxing” effect, causing an even body and head high that makes some users feel as if they’re “floating”. The idea is when you’re feeling relaxed and at peace in your own mind, the resistance you constantly face is eliminated, you feel as though you’re moving through life with more fluidity. Everything becomes more passive and efficient.
Consumers claim that Delta-8 instead of its counterpart, Delta-9, can help keep your mind sharp with a much gentler high. Although Delta-8 is much slower, and more subtle than Delta-9, some people do have a more sensitive reaction to edibles, meaning starting at a lower dose will be the best way to have a steady experience. Not only can it help with your mind, it also carries many benefits for your body.
Here are the overall wellness benefits of Delta-8:
Controlled amounts of Delta-8 are all it takes to have a better functioning brain and body, these functions also affect body hormones in an impactful way:
How are Delta-8 THC edibles stronger?
Now, we’ll talk about potency. A Delta-8 edible may take longer to hit the system than smoking, or vaping the cannabinoid does, that’s because edibles need to pass through the digestive tract before they can be absorbed and this process alone changes a number of things about the experience. Since it takes longer for the edible to give its effect, as you can imagine once it hits it’s more intense than if you smoked it, which is almost instantaneous. The main component in this equation is the liver, once this cannabinoid hits your liver, it’s almost enhanced and turned up in potency. Eating Delta-8 is stronger, however this is where the indica effects of Delta-8 really show it’s face (some would describe it as “couch lock”). Start low and slow, until you feel confident with your doses. And remember to give it time to kick in, most edibles take about 90 mins to fully absorb into the body before you start feeling effects. Because it takes longer to kick in, it will take longer for the Delta-8 to leave your body, the effects may last up to 3-8 hours. Everyone is different, so the number may vary for you, your eating and exercise habits will come into play as well. Have you eaten anything? How much physical activity do you do? These are factors that will determine your metabolism, which will in turn, determine how long your “high” will last. As an example, if you were to take a Delta-8 gummy and then eat a full meal, it could slow digestion and make the Delta-8 take effect much slower and last a lot longer.
There is another option here, many places have a sublingual option of edibles. If you take your edible and let it melt in your mouth, and absorb beneath your tongue, it really bypasses the digestive process. It will be absorbed into your bloodstream through the mucous membranes in the mouth, this experience itself may be similar to the “usual” euphoria since most of what gets absorbed is actually Delta-8 THC and not the digested metabolized version (eating an edible and letting it metabolize). Still, some of the sublingual product is swallowed and processed by digestion, leading to effects that will last longer and hit a little harder. Therefore, this is a good “medium” level between actually consuming a Delta-8 edible, and or smoking/vaping it. If you’re more interested in feeling the effects as soon as you take Delta-8, smoking or vaping would be a better option for you. It all depends on the person, like we said everyone is different. Do you aim to see fast results? Or are you more interested in a longer track experience? Most people enjoy edibles through convenience, in places where smoking or vaping is prohibited, a gummy or other delta-8 sweet treat can be enjoyed without breaking any rules, and edibles are pre-measured doses so you don’t need to dose the compound yourself.
So the true answer here is, it’s up to you. Do you want an instantaneous experience? Or do you mind waiting a little bit for harder and longer lasting effects? The choice is really up to you. Luckily for you, here at Texas Freedom CBD we have all three, so no matter which way you choose to enjoy your Delta-8 experience and soak in all the benefits, we got you!
